Comments from clients:

"When I started the Fisheries I really wanted to help kids get into fishing, especially when I found out how exciting and good fun it could be, while teaching the kids responsibilities, self discipline and respect for one another. I met the Get Hooked on Fishing team and realised that help was out there. From the first time they came they were very professional. I saw the kids enjoying themselves, behaving well and asking loads of questions and getting the right answers. The team taught them not only how to fish, but how to handle the fish properly and respect the water and wildlife around. After each session I liked to ask the kids if they had enjoyed themselves and if they had caught any fish? I never once had a ‘no' to either. Many of my regular anglers passed comment on how nice it was to see them being taught properly. One young angler lost his confidence after going fishing on his own and the team brought him to our lakes to go over things with him. By the end of the day he was beaming again and came fishing with renewed confidence. I really do support the Get Hooked on Fishing scheme and will hopefully continue to give my support and help in the future”. Lou Weaver. Lavender Hall Fisheries.

“The coaches are good and friendly, easy to get on with and the venues we fish are good. The coach knows how to fish different waters and I have found this very helpful. I now know most of the rigs. The coach shows me how to land the fish and so far I have caught over 300lb of fish. It is great to get out into the countryside. Also I have settled down at college and I feel far happier with my life.” Sam Tolley (aged 15)

“My husband and I would like to thank you so much for all the help you and Allan have given to our grandson. He absolutely loves his fishing days and is getting up in the morning (the first time for nearly 6 months). We feel you and Allan have given him his confidence back. He is talking more and is not nearly as introverted as he was. We just wish we had known about your fishing programme earlier. Both of us cannot stress enough how very, very grateful we are.” Mr & Mrs Cosnett.

“Shakespeare is committed to encouraging youngsters into the sport of fishing and also into protecting and serving the environment. Schemes such as yours not only provide youngsters with a pastime, they also encourage them to care for their own community and the countryside at large.
Long may your scheme continue and Shakespeare as a company are proud to be associated with you.”
